ABOUT US
Ash fronts the band on guitar and lead vocals, having fronted other bands and built a reputation across
the UK and Europe as a dynamic, engaging frontman. His jazz and funk-infused guitar work brings a flair to
the band that nothing else could. Drawing inspiration from artists like Chic, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones,
and Paul Simon, his playing and singing are sure to delight and enthuse your guests. Before focusing fully
on performing, Ash ran a community grassroots arts venue for 10 years, creating a welcoming space where
emerging musicians, niche performers, and local artists could find their audience. He believes the best
performances come from connecting with people, and that every wedding is unique – it’s a privilege to help
create the soundtrack for such an important day. On Ash’s record player you’ll find plenty of funk and disco,
rock bangers, and some far-out psychedelia and jazz.
On sax, keys and vocals is Bené. It’s hard to think of a musical avenue that hasn’t involved Bené in some
form over the last decade. As a skilled multi-instrumentalist, they’ve showcased their talents in various guises
across the country, alongside a rich and varied catalogue of acts and performers. According to Bené, nothing
beats the atmosphere backstage in the seconds before stepping out to sprawling festival crowds in the
summer sunshine. Music history and antique instrument restoration have long been a passion for Bené, who
currently runs a creative space for musicians and artists, carefully preserving the mid-century features and
ceramic manufacturing heritage of the building and surrounding area. It’s not uncommon to hear an eclectic
mix of bebop, funk, prog-rock and city pop drifting from the kitchen at dinner time, where you’ll often find
Bené working on a new dish.
On bass guitar is Danny, who cut his teeth in the grassroots UK rock scene and has spent years bringing a
heavy edge to the low end for bands across the country. A player who thrives on locking in with the drums
and driving a crowd from the first song to the last, Danny’s influences range from the thunderous riffs of Rush
and Black Sabbath to the sharp pop hooks of Sabrina Carpenter. It’s that blend of heavy edge and pop
sentimentality that keeps the dancefloor full all night, whatever the room calls for.
Our chief time keeper Andy on drums, is a man of many disciplines, known for entertaining crowds at
bars, parties and weddings from Swansea to Cyprus and everywhere in between. Having drummed for
numerous artists, Andy also handles guitar, backing vocal and string notation duties in his original projects
who played their third YNOT Festival this year, showing the climb from humble beginnings to reaching a real
platform to their dedicated followers. His drumming influences range from rock and funk staples like John
Bonham, Chad Smith and Clyde Stubblefield, to avant-garde drummers like JD Beck and Louis Cole.
